SCHOOL BUILDING PROJECT
It
is our desire to improve upon current educational facilities here in
the village of Zafi. If you have been there, you would know our
concern. There is a need for more change in this area of educational
development in the Yoto Province in Togo.
In this western
African province, many childhood educational
experiences have been that of the children of this village today—as
was the experience of Joseph K. Klougan in 1966. This should not be
so—there should be more change now—more change in the educational
facilities.
The government is
doing all that it can in this area. In 2008, the
Togolese government contributed to the educational system by giving
all elementary school age children free scholarship. In Togo, as in
most African countries, education is not free. The cost of education
is borne by the parents of school age children. If there is not
enough money in the family to support education, the children go
without, as they do concerning food, clothing, and shelter in some
of the more dire circumstances. You can help. My childhood education
has this as its beginning and it is still this way in many places
where I am from—even today. Together we can make a change.
We
want to build not only a school, but a better educational
experience. Our dream is an elementary educational school complex
which will have enough classrooms to accommodate the children who
desire education and whose parent’s dream of their educational
success: graduation. Children who cannot get further education have
nothing to do; they need training, therefore another of our planned
projects is vocational training.
Remember, this is a picture of the current schoolhouse that is being
used to teach the children of the Yoto Province in Togo; Zafi
village. Please help us provide a better educational environment by
your generous giving of money, time, and resources. Will you help?
